Pierre Bayard
Pierre Bayard (* 1954 ) is a French professor , psychoanalyst and writer . He teaches French literature at the University of Paris VIII .
He became known in 2007 with his essay Comment parler des livres que l'on n'a pas lus? (published in German under the title: How to Talk About Books You Have Not Read ), which became a bestseller in France and was also widely recognized in Germany.
In the essay Acquittal for the Baskervilles Dog , published in 2008 . Here Sherlock Holmes erred as the last part of a trilogy, Bayard developed the literary method of "criminal criticism". In the form of a counter-investigation, he tries to prove that Arthur Conan Doyle's novelist Sherlock Holmes should have come to a different conclusion in his investigation in The Hound of Baskerville .
