The Dolmen Pierre Couverte von Saugré (also called Dolmen von Saulgré or Saugray ) is located northeast of Dénezé-sous-Doué in the Maine-et-Loire department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

description

The rectangular dolmen of the Angevin type consists of a six meter long, five meter wide and seventy centimeter thick capstone and three almost 1.8 meter high, more than two meters wide and at least 0.5 m thick bearing stones, one of which is crooked . In the 19th century there were still two stones lying on the site of the portal, today only one is visible.

The dolmen was entered in the Inventaire général du patrimoine culture in 1986.

In the municipality are also the Dolmen de la Pierre Pétouse, Dolmen Pierre Couverte (Chavais) and the Menhir Pierre qui Vire de Virolais, as well as the caves of Les Mousseaux (with the Cave aux Sculptures), a historic monument since 1969.
