The Dolmen de la Forêt is located northwest of Bouchet, next to the road at a fork in the road in the hamlet of La Forêt, west of Gennes near Saumur in the Maine-et-Loire department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

It should not be confused with the “Dolmen de la Forêt de Malbosc” in Auvergne, the “Dolmen de la Forêt” in the Hérault, the “Dolmen de la Forêt de Molac”, the “Dolmen de la Forêt de Meudon” near Versailles or the "Dolmen de la Forêt (Souillac)" in the Lot department .

The Dolmen de la Forêt is an angevin type dolmen, with a rectangular chamber about 4.0 meters long and 2.5 meters wide made of plates along three sides. It has two overhanging capstones and an internal separator that may also be there to support the capstones. There is a small hole through the dividing stone that connects the two parts of the chamber. In the east there is a trilith entrance with two side plates, two door stones and the cap stone.

The 3.5 m high menhir "La Pierre Longue du Bouchet" and the Dolmen de la Pagerie are located about half a kilometer to the southwest .
