Pierre Faubert (composer)
Pierre Faubert (born November 21, 1828 in Toulouse , date and place of death unknown) was a French composer and organist .
Life
Little is known about Faubert's life. He probably attended the conservatory in his hometown, which was founded in 1840 under the direction of Louis-Barthélémy Pradher , and studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with Michele Carafa .
In 1856 he competed for the Prix de Rome for the first time and received an honorable mention with the cantata David . The following year he won the first Second Grand Prix de Rome with the cantata Clovis et Clotilde after Amédée Burion . From the rest of his life we only know that around 1870 he worked as cantor and organist on the five-manual large Clicquot organ of the Saint-Nicolas-des-Champs church .
