Pierre Hugard

Pierre Hugard (* 1726 ; † 1761 in Paris ) was a French composer and choir director of the late Baroque.

Pierre Hugard was the head of the choirboys at the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral in the mid-18th century . Original prints of his mass compositions can be found in the libraries of Cambrai Cathedral and the Brussels Conservatory.

  • "Missa Ridde Mihi Lætitiam" (Paris, 1741)
  • "Missa Laudate pueri Dominum" (Paris, 1744 and 1761 by Christophe Ballard )
  • 4 suites for viol, published under the title “ La Toilette pour pardessus de viole á cinq cordes et basse continue” (Paris, around 1760)
  • Several motets and other church music
