Pierre Issa (born September 11, 1975 in Johannesburg ) is a South African football player on the position of a defender who has also had French nationality since 1995 . Due to the country of birth of his parents, Issa is of Lebanese descent.

Career

Pierre Issa began his professional career in 1995 at Olympique Marseille , where he played until 2001. From February to June 2001 he played at Chelsea before moving to Watford . After the 2001/02 season he moved from the English Premier League to his parents' country of birth, where he played for Olympic Beirut and soon after came to Cameroon to Unisport Bafang , where he played until 2005.

For the 2005/06 season he went to Greece for Ionikos Nikea for a year . From the 2006/07 season he also played in Greece for OFI Crete and has been with FC Steel Azin in Iran since 2009/10 .

He made his national team debut on November 15, 1997 in a 3-0 away defeat against Germany . Issa played his 47th and last game for South Africa on January 30, 2006.
