Pierre Lacotte
Pierre Lacotte (born April 4, 1932 in Chatou , France ) is a French ballet dancer and choreographer .
biography
Pierre Lacotte was trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School. He danced there from 1946 to 1954, then worked as artistic director and choreographer of the Ballets de la Tour Eiffel, the Ballets National des Jeunesses de France, the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, the Ballet at the Opera House in Verona and the Ballet National de Nancy et de Lorraine.
Lacotte is the leading authority on the reconstruction of ballet classics and those from romanticism. In 1972 he began to specialize in revivals of the original choreography versions with Filippo Taglionis La Sylphide . Lacotte delivered other works of this kind with La Fille du Danube (Taglioni), Nathalie ou la laitière suisse , Marco Spada , Le Papillon ( Marie Taglioni ), La Gitana , L'Ombre , Le Lac des fées (Taglioni), La Fille du Pharaon ( Marius Petipa ), Paquita ( Joseph Mazilier and Paul Foucher ) and Ondine ( Jules Perrot ).
Lacotte has been married to the ballerina Ghislaine Thesmar (* 1943) since 1968.
