Michael Korb (born August 17, 1963 in Munich ) is a former German soccer player . His height is 1.84 m. He last played in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 1989/90 season for SG Union Solingen in midfield .

Career

As a youth, Korb played for FV Engers 07 and TuS Koblenz .

In 1982, at the age of 19, Korb moved from TuS Koblenz to MSV Duisburg in the 2nd Bundesliga and played there in the 1982/83 season , scoring one goal in 16 games. On August 31, 1983, he left MSV Duisburg. For the 1984/85 season, Korb moved to the Oberliga Nordrhein to Rot-Weiss Essen and later to Schwarz-Weiß Essen . In the 1987/88 and 1988/89 seasons he played for SG Union Solingen in the 2nd Bundesliga, for which he scored four goals in 69 games. In 1989 he returned from Solingen to Schwarz-Weiß Essen, where he ended his professional career eight years later after breaking his kneecap.

Korb played a total of 85 second division games and scored five goals. He scored one goal in nine appearances in the DFB Cup .

Korb works as a scout for Borussia Mönchengladbach .

Private

Korb's son Julian is also a footballer and currently plays for Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga .
