Pierre Leich

Pierre Leich (* 1960 in Nuremberg ) is a German historian of science and culture manager.

Life

Pierre Leich studied philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg from 1981–1989 with a focus on the theory of science and the history of science .

He was particularly involved in the art scene around Nuremberg in the 1980s and 1990s . So he was z. B. 1984–1993 chairman of the art fair ART Nuremberg , published an art magazine and designed the exhibition "Art and Science".

Since 1995 he has been giving lectures, conceiving conferences and lecture series, publishing on the history of science, particularly astronomical topics, and serving on the advisory boards of various astronomical institutions.

Since 2003 Leichhardt project is for the Long Night of Sciences in Nuremberg / Fürth / Erlangen and for the Science Day of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region operates.

He has been the first chairman of ART & Friedrich since 1980 and was second chairman of the Cauchy Forum Nuremberg , an "interdisciplinary forum for mathematics and its border areas" , from 2000 to 2018 .

Leich is an expert on Simon Marius , has been operating the Marius portal since 2014 and is President of the Simon Marius Society.
