Pierre Liotard-Vogt (born December 14, 1909 in London , † November 15, 1987 in Blonay ) was CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Nestlé .
Life
He was born the son of Enrica (née Cerasoli) and Alfred Liotard-Vogt, who was Nestlé's General Manager.
In 1933, Pierre Liotard-Vogt joined the Nestlé company in Vevey , for which he worked in Belgium, England and above all France, from 1965 as head of the market. In 1967 he was elected to the board of directors of the parent company, from 1968–75 he was delegate and 1973–82 its president. Under his leadership, Nestlé took a new stake in the mineral water ( Vittel ) and cosmetics business ( L'Oréal ), as well as in the pharmaceutical company Alcon, which are now one of Nestlé's most successful investments. Nestle gradually sold its stake in Alcon to Novartis for over $ 38 billion.

He invited his friends to the family castle in France to hunt, including the former French President François Mitterrand . In his private life he was very committed to the Center Français de Protection de l'Enfance , which he financed through his Foundation Association Pierre Liotard-Vogt . The foundation is still run today by his son Bertrand Liotard-Vogt and his grandson Patrick Liotard-Vogt.
In 1951 he became a Chevalier and in 1959 an officer of the Legion of Honor . The city of Vevey awarded him the title of Honorary Citizen in 1976.
