Pierre Miremont

Pierre Miremont (* 1901 in Le Buisson-de-Cadouin ; † July 22, 1979 ) was a French Romance scholar , Occitanist and author of Occitan.

life and work

Miremont was first a teacher, then a career officer. He spent the years 1941 to 1944 in German captivity. After the war he worked as a judicial officer in insurance supervision. He published numerous literary works in the Occitan language.

Miremont was from 1945 majoral (academician) of Félibrige .

Miremont was a Knight of the Legion of Honor .
