Pietà (Gabarnac)
The Pietà in the Church of St-Seurin in Gabarnac , a French commune in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was created in the 16th century. In 1971, the Pietà was added to the list of listed objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .
The stone sculpture group shows Mary on her knees with the body of Jesus . It is said to have similarities with the sculpture of St. Anne in the Cathedral of Bordeaux .
