Piet O. Schmidt
Piet Oliver Schmidt (* 1970 in Schwäbisch Hall ) is a German physicist at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover and the PTB . There he heads the Institute for Experimental Quantum Metrology .
Schmidt studied physics in Constance and Portland . In 2003 he received his doctorate from the University of Stuttgart . From 2005 to 2008 he was Rainer Blatt's assistant . In 2009 he was appointed professor.
He deals with quantum physics and its applications in metrology .
