The museum

Pieter Teyler van der Hulst had Scottish ancestors who originally spelled "Taylor". He was a son of Isaac Teyler and Marie van der Hulst. His marriage to Helene Veynan's Verchane had two sons, but both of them died in childhood. Pieter Teyler van der Hulst put on extensive collections of objets d'art, natural objects and scientific instruments that travelers could view with him.
