Pietling

Pietling is a district of the municipality of Fridolfing in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein .

history

St. Martin in Pietling

The church village was first mentioned as "Putelingen" in the late 8th century in the Breves Notitiae of the Archdiocese of Salzburg . The place developed with two settlement centers: a smaller part above the slope edge with the dominating church St. Martin and a larger part on the western edge of the Salzach valley .

An important trunk road ran here, leading north from Salzburg .
