Pietro Ferrero junior

Pietro Ferrero (born September 11, 1963 in Turin , † April 18, 2011 in Camps Bay , South Africa ) was an Italian entrepreneur and head of the confectionery manufacturer Ferrero from 1997 until his death in 2011 .

Life

Ferrero studied biology and worked at Ferrero Germany from 1985. He later moved to the corporate headquarters in Alba , where he was responsible for production and technical issues. Pietro Ferrero and his brother Giovanni took over the management of the family business in 1997 in the third generation from their father Michele Ferrero . Until 2008, Ferrero was also a director on the board of directors of the Mediobanca credit institution .

Ferrero died on April 18, 2011 at the age of 47 in South Africa of a heart attack that he suffered while cycling on the coastal road between Camps Bay and Llandudno . He leaves behind a wife and three children.
