Pietro Filippo Scarlatti
Pietro Filippo Scarlatti (born January 5, 1679 in Rome , † February 22, 1750 in Naples ) was an Italian composer , organist and choirmaster .
Pietro Filippo - the eldest child of the composer Alessandro Scarlatti and a brother of Domenico Scarlatti , who also became famous as a composer - began his musical career in 1705 as the choirmaster of the Urbino Cathedral . His father brought him to Naples in 1708, where he worked as an organist at the royal court.
In 1728 he composed his only known opera, Clitarco (premiered in the Teatro San Bartolomeo in Naples), the score of which is lost. His other major works include three cantatas and a large number of toccatas for piano and organ .
