Pietro Venerandi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pietro Venerandi (around 1870 - after 1912) was an Italian opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Little is known about Venerandi's life. At the beginning of the 20th century he appeared on various provincial stages in Italy. In 1905 he worked at the Italian Opera in Holland.

Despite his rather modest-looking career, many records with his voice have survived, until 1905 on Columbia Records , subsequently on Zonophone and then on Pathé (1912).

According to the well-rehearsed arias, he was a heroic tenor. His voice has been preserved as “Radames” in Aida , “Manrico” in Il trovatore and as “ Ernani ” and “ Othello ”.
