The Pigeon River is a tributary of Lake Winnipeg in the eastern part of the Canadian province of Manitoba .
The Pigeon River forms the southern drain of Family Lake . He leaves the lake via the Shining Falls . The northern outflow of Family Lake is the Berens River , which flows through the northern part of the lake. The Pigeon River flows through the Canadian Shield in a west-northwest direction and finally flows into Lake Winnipeg. Halfway through the Pigeon River flows through Round Lake . At its outflow, the mean discharge is 80 m³ / s. The Pigeon River has a length of about 150 km.
The upper half of the river - above Round Lake - lies within Atikaki Provincial Park . The Pigeon River is a destination for canoe trips that run downriver from Family Lake to the estuary.
