Carmen Josefina León Crespo or Pilín León (born May 19, 1963 in Maracay , Aragua ) is a model , a beauty queen from Venezuela and Miss World 1981.

Career

León was named Miss World on November 12, 1981 in London. After Carmen Duijm Zubillaga in 1955, she was the second title holder from Venezuela. Pilín León took second place in the national contest behind Irene Sáez , who later became Miss Universe , and was thus able to participate in the finals in London and succeeded Kimberley Santos . She was the first celebrity to be allowed to light the Christmas lights in Oxford Street , London . In 1982, Pilín León was replaced by Mariasela Álvarez from the Dominican Republic.
