Carmen Susana Duijm Zubillaga (born August 11, 1936 in Barcelona , Anzoátegui , Venezuela , † June 18, 2016 ) was a Venezuelan beauty queen and actress.

Career

Carmen Duijm took part in several Miss elections in 1955: First she was named "Miss Venezuela" on July 9th and represented her country in the " Miss Universe " election on July 22nd, in which she reached the semifinals. On October 20, she was crowned " Miss World " in London as the successor to Antigone Costanda . She was the first participant from a South American country and thus also the first Venezuelan to win this title. Her successor as "Miss World" was the German Petra Schürmann in 1956 .

After gaining prominence as the beauty queen, she received a few film roles and TV hosting.
