Pillai
Pillai or Pillay ( Tamil : பிள்ளை Piḷḷai , Malayalam : പിള്ള Piḷḷa ) is a title used by several Indian castes , especially the Vellala in Tamil Nadu and the Nayar in Kerala . In Tamil Nadu, the use of caste names became uncommon in the 20th century, but Pillai is still used as a surname in Kerala and the Tamil diaspora .
