Willien Doesburg (born October 28, 1943 in Rotterdam ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

Doesburg started his career in his hometown Rotterdam with Sparta Rotterdam . For the first five years of his career he was caught between the posts at Sparta. In 1966 he even won the Dutch Cup. A year later he moved to PSV Eindhoven . He stayed with the Boeren for three years. During this time, the goalkeeper could not win any titles. In 1970 he returned to Sparta. Doesburg was a goalkeeper at this club for ten years before moving back to PSV in Eindhoven . In his last seven years as a goalkeeper, he became Dutch champions in 1986 and 1987. Doesburg ended his career at the biblical football age of 44.

Internationally, Doesburg played eight times for the Dutch national team. He took part in the Football World Cup in Argentina in 1978 , where he was runner-up as a substitute goalkeeper. In the UEFA EURO 1980 in Italy Doesburg was once in use. The Oranje Elftal retired in the group stage as third in the group.

Coaching career

After his active career, Doesburg became goalkeeping coach at Feyenoord Rotterdam, among others .
