The Pin Parbati La is a high mountain pass in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh .
A 110 km long 11-day trekking route leads over the Pin Parbati La from the upper reaches of the Parbati in the west to the source region of the Pin in the east. The pass has an altitude of 5319 m and crosses the main Himalayan ridge. The pass is glaciated. July to September is the best time for a trek.
The first known crossing of the mountain pass took place in August 1884 by Sir Louis Dane, who was exploring an alternative route to the hospital .
