The Pinehurst Kids are an American indie rock band from Portland , Oregon .
In 1997 Joe Davis moved from Idaho to Portland , Oregon . Together with his friend, the drummer Robler Kind, he met Caleb Gates here. They want to record a demo tape together, but due to the many positive reactions to the music, it becomes a complete CD. The first album Minnesota Hotel is self-released by the band . Viewmaster , the second album, makes it into the top 10 of CMJ. In 2001 the third album Bleed It Dry appears , which was mixed by John Goodmanson .
The Pinehurst Kids toured the USA with Guided by Voices and Superchunk , among others .
In 1998, the song Jodi Foster was played in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer .
