Pinky Savitt
Pincus "Pinky" Savitt (born July 8, 1919 , † September 27, 1998 ) was an American jazz trumpeter of the late swing era .
Live and act
Savitt played from the mid-1940s in the big bands of Boyd Raeburn (1944), Roy Eldridge (1945), Gene Krupa (1945), Buddy Rich (1946) and Harry James (1947-50). In the 1950s, he worked with Bobby Sherwood , Robert Clary , Frank Sinatra , Anita O'Day , Doris Day and Ike Carpenter in Los Angeles . In the field of jazz he was involved in 88 recording sessions between 1944 and 1953. As a musician, he was seen in the films Land of the Pharaohs (1955), Basilus - Hero of Rome (1954) and The Wages of the Brave (1965).
