Piotr Trzaskalski

Piotr Trzaskalski (born February 5, 1964 in Łódź ) is a Polish film director .

Trzaskalski studied cultural studies at the University of Łódź and then film directing at the Łódź Film School . After graduating, he first worked for television.

His film Edi was one of the most popular films in Poland in 2002 . The film was received very positively by both the audience and the film critics. The film won prizes at the Berlinale , at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia and received the audience award at the annual Polish Film Award . The main role of the film was played by the former child star Henryk Gołębiewski , who again achieved great popularity thanks to this film. In 2005 his second feature film Der Meister was released .
