action
Edi and his friend Jurek are gypsies who finance their lives by collecting scrap. One day Edi meets two gypsies who offer him to become the private tutor of their sister, whom they call a princess. Edi, who has a great love for books, accepts the offer. The sister is locked in the house by her brothers to prevent her from having contact with other men. Edi feels sorry for her and one day allows her to escape from the house. She takes the chance and meets with her boyfriend, a gypsy boy. When she becomes pregnant some time later, the brothers immediately suspect the gypsy boy. The princess protects him and claims that Edi raped her. For this, Edi is castrated by the brothers, and later he is given "his" child to raise. Edi, knowing full well that it is not his child, does not contradict. Edi goes to the country and raises the child there. When the child is baptized, the princess and the child's birth father appear unexpectedly to pick up their child.
