Pyongyang Student Palace
The Pyongyang Student Palace is an educational institution in the North Korean capital Pyongyang in the district of Chung-guybezirkk (Dong Jongro-dong ) and the first school to be established in Pyongyang based on the concept of student palaces . It is located on Jangdae Hill , west of Sungri Road , and is part of Jongro-dong County. In addition to sports and art rooms, it also houses a grammar school and offers space for 4,000 children.

The building was opened on September 30, 1963 and contains a total of over 500 rooms, including 200 laboratories. It also has a reading room with space for 200 people, a sports hall and a theater hall with at least 1,000 seats. Over 100,000 media are available in the in-house library. There is an observatory on the tenth floor of the side building .
In front of the main entrance is a bronze statue depicting President Kim Il-sung with three children. On the facade above the main entrance there are reliefs in the form of summer magnolias , the national symbol of Korea. The building encloses a green inner courtyard.
