Pyotr Lvovich Bark
Pyotr Bark , English and Sir Peter Bark ( Russian Пётр Львович Барк ; born April 6 . Jul / 18th April 1869 greg. In yekaterinoslav governorate ; † 16th January 1937 ) was a Russian politician and Russian Finance Minister from 1914 to 1917.
Bark went to school in St. Petersburg and then studied law at the local university . In 1891 he got a post in the Ministry of Finance. In 1903 he trained as a banker at the Mendelssohn & Co. bank in Berlin . Then he worked again in the state bank. Then he had a post in the Volga-Kama Bank . In 1911 he returned to the civil service and was appointed Minister of Finance in 1914.
After fleeing to Great Britain as a result of the Russian Revolution in 1917, he was General Director of the Anglo-International Bank in London . Bark also acted as financial advisor to Marija Fjodorovna (Tsarina of the Russian Empire from 1881 to 1894) in exile in Great Britain. In 1935 he was knighted as a Knight Bachelor ("Sir").
