Plácido Domingo Ferrer

Plácido Domingo Ferrer (born May 25, 1907 in Saragossa , † November 22, 1987 in Mexico City ) was a Spanish zarzuela singer (baritone) and the father of the opera tenors Plácido Domingo .
Domingo was a successful zarzuela singer in Spain. As early as 1940 he appeared with his future wife Pepita Embil in Federico Moreno Torrobas Sor Navarra . In 1946 they both stayed in Mexico after touring. They settled in Mexico City and became Mexican citizens. Both ran the Domingo-Embil Company for 35 years and toured internationally with it.
