The Place des Ternes is a public square in the 8th and 17th arrondissement in Paris .

The square is located at the intersection of Avenue de Wagram , Boulevard de Courcelles , Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Avenue des Ternes , near Place de l'Étoile .

The square can be reached by metro via the following station:

  • Ternes Paris Metro 2.svg ; access is on the square.

Name origin

The name is derived from the neighborhood to " Avenue des Ternes ", which used to be in the hamlet of Ternes (now Quartier des Ternes ).

The square was laid out in 1893 and took over part of Avenue de Wagram . It is located at the point where the customs office du Roule ( French Barrière d ' octroi du Roule ) was.

Attractions

  • No. 7–9: Extraordinary residential area: The residential complex with luxury apartments was grouped around a garden in 1882 and has not changed much since then.
