Plagiochila is a genus of liverwort of the order Lophocoleales .

features

Plagiochila forms strong plants with a creeping stem, the branches are mostly upright. The flank leaves have grown obliquely. At the front they are straight, at the back they are curved and serrated. The sub-leaves are inconspicuous and can also be missing. The plants are separate sexes ( diocesan ). Male plants have a dense, spike-like terminal stem section.

Plagiochila is a genus of the Plagiochilaceae family . It is the most species-rich genus of liverworts and comprises over 500 species, most of which are found in the tropics. 14 species are native to Europe and Macaronesia , mainly in Atlantic-toned areas.
