Thymus holosericeus is a plant type from the genus of thyme ( Thymus ) in the family of Labiatae .

Thymus holosericeus is a small, grass-forming shrub that grows up to 10 cm high and woody at the base. The flower-bearing stems are 3 to 6 cm high, their internodes are significantly shorter than the leaves and are velvety hairy. The leaves are 10 to 15 mm long and 1.5 to 2 mm wide. They are narrow, inverted-lanceolate, pointed to the front, finely toothed, velvety hairy and ciliate in the lower half.
The inflorescences are dense, elongated capitula . The bracts are about 9 mm long and 4 mm wide, ovate, pointed and bluish gray-green in color. The calyx is 4 to 5 mm long, tomentose-like hairy, the calyx tube is more or less cylindrical and the upper teeth are about 0.5 cm long, narrowly lanceolate and ciliate. The crown is 7 to 9 mm long and colored pink-purple.
Occurrence and locations
The species occurs on Kefalonia in western Greece .
