Plana is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon on the southern edge of Lacus Mortis . To the east of it lies the Mason crater .
Plana is badly eroded and has a central mountain . The inside of the crater is flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian astronomer Giovanni Antonio Amedeo Plana .
