The Planstatt is a building in Darmstadt .
History and description
The Planstatt is a three-storey studio house built according to plans by the architect Ernst Neufert and completed in 1958. The long, narrow building with a flat roof has walls made of dark-fired clinker bricks . The horizontal structure of the studio building is emphasized by the dark clinker brick pulled out of the facade in layers . The studio on the top floor is fully glazed. Ernst Neufert's architectural office resided in the building .
The Planstatt today
The Planstatt still serves as a studio building and office for Darmstadt architects. For architectural and city history reasons, the building is a cultural monument .
