Planning system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A planning system is an application system that aims, on the one hand, to ensure that the data used in the planning of corporate processes are reliable and, on the other hand, that more alternatives can be considered within the planning process.

Planning systems and control systems

Together with the control systems, planning systems ensure precise planning and control of corporate processes. The opposite of planning and control systems are the operational systems , which are more concerned with the operational process, i.e. the process implementation itself.

Planning and control systems are particularly relevant for middle management in the areas of research and development (R&D), procurement , warehousing , production, shipping and customers, as well as for top management in relation to corporate planning . In general, the functions of the planning and control systems at the middle management level can be broken down into the functions of finance , accounting , building management and human resources .
