ARTE quartet
The ARTE Quartet was founded in 1995 by the saxophonists Beat Hofstetter , Sascha Armbruster , Andrea Formenti and Beat Kappeler .
His focus is on the interpretation of contemporary, jazzy and freely improvised music. The four saxophonists work with composers and are often involved in the creation process of compositions. Among others, projects with Urs Leimgruber , Hans Feigenwinter , Terry Riley , Michael Riessler , Tim Berne , Fred Frith , Nick Didkovsky , Pierre Favre , Lucas Niggli and Rabih Abou-Khalil have been performed and performed at national and international concerts and festivals CDs were released. In the quartet projects, the ARTE quartet arranges and composes its own music and presents it at its concerts mostly with a thematic focus.
