Hans Feigenwinter

Hans Feigenwinter (* 1965 in Basel ) is a Swiss jazz musician (piano, composition).

Live and act

Feigenwinter toured with pop groups as a teenager, then with the indie rock band Thin King and the Lazy Poker Blues Band. He studied jazz piano at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern . Since 1996 he has appeared in a trio with Bänz Oester and Norbert Pfammatter , which has released several albums. In recent years he has often performed his music in the Feigenwinter 3 group together with Wolfgang Zwiauer and Arno Troxler. He also played with the wind players Domenic Landolf and Andreas Tschopp in the formation of Hans Feigenwinter ZINC . In addition, he often gives solo concerts; they are often completely shaped by improvisation. As a composer, he also worked with the Lucerne Jazz Orchestra , which presented his works at the BeJazz Winter Festival 2015. Feigenwinter u. a. with Woody Shaw , Franco Ambrosetti , Joe Lovano , Billy Hart , Buddy DeFranco , Chico Freeman , Tom Varner or Johannes Maikranz . He is also a member of Peter Schärli's sextet , Jonas Windscheid's Paintbox and Herbie Kopf's Explo 3000 . Feigenwinter teaches as a university lecturer at the Music Academy of the City of Basel and also teaches at the Lucerne School of Music .
