Norbert Pfammatter

Norbert Pfammatter (* 12. September 1959 in Visp ) is a Swiss jazz - drummer and music teacher.

Pfammatter spent his youth and school days in Brig , began self-taught playing the drums and gained his first musical experience in rock bands before turning to jazz and improvisation. In 1980 he moved to Bern to study with Billy Brooks at the Swiss Jazz School until 1985 . After graduating in 1985, he taught at various music schools, and since 1994 he has been a lecturer in percussion at the Lucerne School of Music. He is the author of the textbook Rhythm Lines . From the 1980s he worked on numerous projects in the field of jazz and improvisation, among others. a. with Heiner Althaus , Bertrand Denzler ( Nanocluster , Leo Records , 2001), Roberto Domeniconi , Elina Duni , Feya Faku , Donat Fisch , Harald Haerters Intergalactic Maidenballet , Franz Hellmüller , Vera Kappeler , Hans Koch , Bänz Oester , Marianne Racine , Peter Schärli and Nat Su . In the field of jazz he was involved in 44 recording sessions between 1986 and 2013.
