The Opština Plasnica ( Macedonian Општина Пласница ; Turkish Plasnitsa Belediyesi ) is a community that is predominantly inhabited by the Turkish minority in North Macedonia . The municipality is one of the smallest in North Macedonia and consists of four villages.

The municipality borders in the north on the municipality Makedonski Brod , in the south on the municipality Kruševo and in the west on the municipality Kičevo .

population

The community has a total population of 4,545 people, 97% of whom identified themselves as ethnic Turks and the other 3% as either Macedonians or Albanians .

history

Turks settled in the areas of North Macedonia when the Ottoman Empire took it in the 14th century . However, the majority of the villages used to be Torbeschen .
