Plastixx
Plastixx referred imported in June 2005 polymer - Price index of industry publication 'KI - Plastics Information'. This index represents the price development of plastics in Western Europe . The calculation is carried out monthly on the basis of the market prices determined and published by KI for standard thermoplastics and engineering thermoplastics.
While the Plastixx comprises the most important thermoplastics as a whole, the Plastixx ST reflects the price development of standard thermoplastics and the Plastixx TT that of engineering thermoplastics. The basis for Plastixx, Plastixx ST and Plastixx TT is January 2002 with 1000 points.
The Plastixx shows the price developments of PE-LD / LLD , PE-HD , PP , PVC , PS , PET as well as ABS , PA , PC , PMMA , POM and PBT according to the principle of the so-called " Paasche index ". The average Western European market prices of the materials, weighted according to Western European consumption quantities, are included in the monthly index calculation. The weighting according to consumption quantities is updated annually. The data are based on independent surveys by KI as part of a panel that has been in existence since 2002 ( panel research ). Since the price development of the individual thermoplastic types can be different (also in opposite directions), this index does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the actual price development of the respective plastic types.
A-Plastixx
The A-Plastixx was introduced in October 2008. Each of the six A-Plastixx indices shows the price development of a group of plastics that are decisive for a respective market segment: packaging, construction, automotive and electrical goods. They fit completely consistently into the Plastixx series and the data system of KI - Plastic Information.
