Platja des Caragol ('Snail Beach') is a sandy beach in the south of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . Located in the southwestern part of the municipality of Santanyí , it is about eight kilometers south of the village of Ses Salines , northwest of the southernmost point of the island of Mallorca, the Cap de ses Salines .
The beach consists of fine sand that leads flat into the water. There is a finca on the southern edge. The hinterland, the S'Avall estate , is privately owned. It is fenced in, guarded and cannot be crossed. Passage to the beach is granted to residents of the municipalities of Santanyí and ses Salines. For other people, the only way to get to the beach is by following the coastal footpath, either from Cap de ses Salines or from Colònia de Sant Jordi in the northwest, six kilometers away .
Access
From the MA-6100 between Ses Salines and Santanyí south on the MA-6110 to Cap de ses Salines . Park the vehicle there and walk the 1.5 kilometers in about half an hour on the flat coastal footpath northwest.
