The Plattberg (also called Platberg) is a nearly 550 meter high mountain in the Ebbegebirge . It is located around three kilometers southeast of the town of Plettenberg in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The hamlet of Sonneborn is about 1.5 kilometers south. It is not certain whether the mountain, whose north-western ridge extends into the town of Plettenberg, was also the name giver for the town, but it is obvious.
