Plattdütsch Späldäl to Stralsund (short: Plattdütsch Späldäl , High German: Low German stage) is the name of an amateur theater ensemble from Stralsund that performs plays in the Low German language .

history

The Plattdütsch Späldäl was founded in 1920, it emerged from the Low German Heimatverein. Fritz Wähnke, Richard Burmeister, Paul Scholz, Otto Schiel and Wilhelm Puchert were among the founders.

The first stage manager was Richard Burmeister, under whose direction the play "Ut de Preußentied" was rehearsed by Carl Beyer . The venues were initially hall stages in the Central Park , the Zum Brunnen and the Hansa-Halle . Under Burmeister's successor, Paul Schulz, the Plattdütsch Späldäl played for the first time in the Stralsund Theater am Kniepertor . The premiere was December 3, 1921; the comedy "Kramer Kray" by Hermann Boßdorf was performed. The year 1921 also brought the first guest performances in the surrounding area, for example in Sassnitz , Grimmen and Bergen on Rügen . During the Low German Week 1923, the Redentiner Easter Play and the Singspiel "De Schierenschlieper" were performed.

From 1924 Wilhelm Puchert took over the stage management.

From 1933 the number of performances grew. The Plattdütsch Späldäl was also booked for radio recordings in the Deutschlandsender , Reichssender Berlin and Reichssender Hamburg . As a result of the integration into the National Socialist force through joy organization, there were appearances in Western Pomerania , East Pomerania and Stettin .

Even after the Second World War, the Plattdütsch Späldäl was preserved. In 1964 there was a guest performance in Schleswig with the piece “Twee to Null vör Oma” by Rolf Schümann; it was the only guest appearance in West Germany until the fall of the Berlin Wall. From 1965 to 1974 only literary programs were performed due to the lack of actors. It was not until 1974 that performances began again under the stage direction of Wilhelm Puchert's son Dietrich Puchert; Heinz Medrow, Gusti Schmidt, Hans and Horst Barnewitz, Rita Jager, Bruno Scharp, Ulrich Bumann, Werner Below, Ellen Pietsch and others were among the actors. In 1984 Karl Peplow took over the stage management.

With the fall of the Wall, numerous actors left the stage, which from then on was operated as a registered association . Since then, the Plattdütsch Späldäl has appeared in the city theater, but also in the brewery behind the Wulflamhaus . In 2001 Jan Barnewitz became stage director and Petra Schwaan-Nandke became artistic director. In 2012 the association had 31 members.
