The plate heart flagellate ( Phacus pleuronectes ) is a protist species from the genus Phacus . It occurs in stagnant, non-polluted waters.
features
Phacus pleuronectes is 45 to 100 micrometers long and 30 to 70 micrometers wide. The sting of the cells is crooked and short. One side of the body is flat, the other is arched and forms a ridge running through from front to back. The membrane is striped lengthways. The scourge is slightly longer than the body. The chloroplasts are disc-shaped.
