architecture

Exterior description

The square house is a two-storey brick building with a loft above a central floor plan . It is covered with a purlin roof and has corridor locks in the gable . The north side of the house protrudes slightly on the gable side. Due to the hillside location, the eastern side has a high brick base and a steep brick staircase. On the east side of the gable and the south side of the eaves there is abundant Renaissance painting on the Old and New Testament, as well as figures of saints that are explained by inscriptions. On the gable side there is a large picture field of St. Christopher and a representation of St. George . A naked man is shown on the right. The inscription from 1576 names the owner. On the stairs there is a gigantic looking " wild man " with a tree trunk. On the eaves side is a detailed picture program between the windows of the two floors and in the parapet of the upper floor. A saddled and tethered horse is depicted on the base of the building. Above this begins the series of images that begin with the “ Fall of Man ” and the “Expulsion from Paradise” and go up to a crucifixion scene. This is dated with the year 1608. In the upper row are " Judith with the head of Holofernes ", the "Judgment of Solomon " and " Lazarus and the feast of the rich man". Basically, the paintings are based on the prints from the Renaissance, but were renovated and painted over in the 18th century. The corner blocks with heraldic shields are painted.

Inside description

The kitchen and the ground floor are arched with a stitch cap .
