The Plawenntal , also simply called Plawenn , is a short, orographically left side valley of the Vinschgau or upper Adige Valley in South Tyrol . It branches off at the Malser Haide in a north-easterly direction and runs parallel to the southern, albeit much longer, Planeil Valley into the Planeiler Mountains , a subgroup of the Ötztal Alps . The end of the valley is dominated by the 2909  m high Mittereck . The valley is drained by the Plawenner Bach , which flows into the Etsch . The only village in the valley is Plawenn at 1730  m above sea level near the valley exit. Administratively, the entire Plawenn valley belongs to the municipality of Mals .
