The Playa Games GmbH is a game developer and operator of browser-based and mobile games based in Hamburg. The company publishes its own titles and markets them itself. More than 50 million people have registered for the games. The company's most famous title is the browser game Shakes and Fidget .
history
The company was founded in 2009 by Jan Beuck and Martin Jässing. Both previously headed the Master Creating developer studio they started in 2001 and were responsible for the action role-playing games Legend: Hand of God and Restricted Area .
In August 2016, Playa Games presented a self-developed software that converts Flash -based games into HTML5 . The company is thus countering the problem of the dwindling Flash support of popular browsers. In October 2017, Playa Games tried to raise EUR 250,000 with the help of the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.com to finance an adventure computer game with Shakes and Fidget as a theme. The Bremen studio King Art was responsible for creating the game . Due to a lack of interest from potential buyers, the campaign was canceled after three weeks.

Shakes & Fidget - The Game is an online role-playing game released in June 2009 for which over 40 million players have registered. It was released for iOS and Android . In addition, it was the only game by Playa Games to be ported to Microsoft Windows Phone and featured in various countries by Microsoft. The game was published in 25 languages and is constantly being further developed. Playa Games received several awards for sfgame , as the game is called by the community, including the audience award of the German Developer Award 2009 in the category "Best German Casual Game".
KickerStar
KickerStar was released at the end of 2010. The role-playing game is about a football manager, and not a club but a player is managed. It was developed in cooperation with the Olympia-Verlag ( kicker sports magazine ). 6 million players from 21 countries have registered for the game. It was released for iOS and Android devices and was last advertised on German free TV for the 2014 World Cup.
Bloodmoon
Bloodmoon appeared as the third title in 2012. In the role-playing game, the player slips into the shape of a werewolf, vampire or hunter (humans). Officially, the game has 2 million registered players. The game contains rendered videos in almost all game screens and still runs well. This is unusual for a browser game.
Tiny Island
The most recent title from the developer appeared in 2014. Tiny Island is a puzzle game and the first game from Playa Games to be platform-independent . Like the other games, it can also be played in the Internet browser and on smartphones and tablets . What is new is that a game account can be played on different devices. In addition, all players play together in a big world, regardless of whether they are logged in to their PC or their smartphone.
