The Playa Games GmbH is a game developer and operator of browser-based and mobile games based in Hamburg. The company publishes its own titles and markets them itself. More than 50 million people have registered for the games. The company's most famous title is the browser game Shakes and Fidget .

history

The company was founded in 2009 by Jan Beuck and Martin Jässing. Both previously headed the Master Creating developer studio they started in 2001 and were responsible for the action role-playing games Legend: Hand of God and Restricted Area .

In August 2016, Playa Games presented a self-developed software that converts Flash -based games into HTML5 . The company is thus countering the problem of the dwindling Flash support of popular browsers. In October 2017, Playa Games tried to raise EUR 250,000 with the help of the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.com to finance an adventure computer game with Shakes and Fidget as a theme. The Bremen studio King Art was responsible for creating the game . Due to a lack of interest from potential buyers, the campaign was canceled after three weeks.
