Plem Plem Productions

Plem Plem Productions started out as a "one-man kitchen table publisher". Christopher Kloiber, a lifelong comic fan, started with his own ideas for a comic series, but couldn't get them to work with any of the comic publishers established at the time. Kloiber then decided to publish his ideas on his own and founded Plem Plem Productions in Wörth . This resulted in the first published comic book Whoa! Comics # 1 . This first edition was stylistically very close to the underground comix , with Whoa! Comics # 2 changed the look of the comics and switched to the Funny division.

The second series followed in 2009 with Bok-Man and the Asi-Animal , drawn by Dennis "Bouncie D." Lehmann. More comics like Sanchez Adventures and Teenage Superfreaks followed. In 2009 Plem Plem Productions exhibited for the first time at the Munich Comic Festival and in 2011. For the first time in 2012 at the Erlangen Comic Salon , which was repeated in 2014.

In September 2013, Plem Plem Productions released their most successful series to date, The Changer . Written by Kloiber and drawn by the draftsman and newcomer Thomas Wagner , they achieved their first commercial success with 500 copies of the first edition sold, as well as the sale of the second edition in May 2015. In addition to a commercial success, The Changer was also praised by the critics:

“The comic strips [sic!] Have a lot of depth, are filigree, realistic and rich in detail. [ The Changer ] reminds a bit of the villain Bruce Wayne from Batman and the hero Even from the film Butterfly Effect . "( Katrin Langhaus : Süddeutsche Zeitung )

In 2014, Plem Plem Productions published more than 15 comic book series and single titles. Other illustrators also published at Plem Plem Productions, including the then 14-year-old Maxim Seehagen, who presented his first comic book Herrmann Comix at the comics salon . Since 2014, Plem Plem Productions has been publishing translated foreign works in German for the first time, and various comics are being re-translated on the American comic book platform comiXology , published in English and German.
